Photo chronicle of the development of Atyrau (Guriev) after 1945
Old photographs were taken by local historians and posted in the public domain on the Internet. Huge words of gratitude to Shergilov, who significantly enlarged the collection. We did not set out to capture specific people in the pictures, our task was to convey the spirit of the era and look into the faces of our fathers and grandfathers
1951, newsreel footage - Construction in the city of Guryev. Two-story houses are being built along Lenin Street (Azzatyk Avenue) and along Chkalov Street (Makhambet Utemisov). The quarries where the stone was mined can still be seen near the Airport - the so-called "Salt Lake", exactly the place where the stone was mined and sawn.
